Annecy Small Lake

Impossible to talk about Le Cottage Bise without talking about the bay of Talloires, this small lake, this setting of preserved nature, far from the hustle and bustle of Annecy and its channels. Intimate Talloires, a pearl of wild water bordered by reeds, has naturally inspired many painters including Paul Cézanne who painted Le Lac Bleu here in 1896. Because this landscape where the minerals of mountains with evocative names –Les Dents de Lafon, Roc de Chère-, are reflected in a crystal clear water which is barely troubled by the wind and the legend of the Dame du Lac will take you on a motionless journey across the water and a source of inspiration.

For this landscape, where the minerality of the mountains with their evocative names - Teeth of Lafon, Roc de Chère - is reflected in the crystal-clear water, barely disturbed by the wind and the legend of the Lady of the Lake, is an invitation to take a still journey along the water's edge and a source of inspiration.

“ Here's the little lake, a romantic wonder,
sparkling azure in a basket. ”

Ephise Simond, Poésies annéciennes, 1895

Talloires or the art of living in diversity

The artists who made it their muse and their holiday destination were not mistaken. Nor were the celebrities and world leaders who came here over the years to bathe in its calm and discretion. The Empress Eugénie and Napoleon III, the Queen of England and the Aga Khan, who was a loyal visitor from the outset, Alphonse de Lamartine, Winston Churchill, Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier of Monaco, Richard Nixon, Sacha Guitry, Charlie Chaplin, Brigitte Bardot, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor... to name but a few, gave it its first letters of nobility and spirit. They endure today as little white pebbles that lead or lead back visitors who love a haven of peace in the great outdoors.
