The great escape in nature

Step towards escape

In Talloires, on the shore of lake Annecy and at the foot of the mountains, discover an extraordinary natural setting within an authentic and preserved landscape and where the fauna and flora punctuate time.

The Cottage Bise hotel restaurant will place you at the foot of superb hiking trails, from the Roc de Chère by passing by the Bout-du-Lac. The site, which is overlooked by the Aravis Mountain peaks, is surrounded by natural reserves with lush flora and also unusual places with a striking beauty such as the Saint Germain Hermitage or the Planfait site.

The Angon waterfalls

  • Level : Easy, marked trail. Caution: the path under waterfalls is only to be taken in dry weather. Hold children by the hand. Walking Time: several routes are possible.
  • Walking time : about 50 minutes by the trail in front of the Talloires School, approximately 40 minutes for the descent.
  • Attractions : A superb Canyon, spectacular waterfalls, a lovely small bridge which is called the Pont des Fées. The site is swarming with legends and is sown with forest flowers and fruits. Children enjoy this enchanting walk very much. You can make a looped circuit by passing through the Angon village.

The Saint-Germain Hermitage

  • Level : access without any risk by the old route of Talloires. The elevation is high but the walk is easy.
  • Walking time : ascension approximately 1 hour from the hotel, about 50 minutes for the descent.
  • Attractions :a cave with a staggering viewpoint on the lake and an important spiritual place which has been crossed by Saints. A Benedictine monk, Saint-Germain withdrew here to live as a hermit. Saint Francis de Sales spent the last years of his life here "with a pen and a rosary".

Roc de Chère, the Belvédère circuit

  • Level : Easy, marked trail and very accessible.
  • Walking time : approximately 50 minutes for the ascent and approximately 40 minutes for the descent from the bottom of the natural reserve. Add 1/2 hour of walking if departing by foot from the hotel.
  • Attractions : from the bluffs overlooking the bay of Talloires, a variety of surprising vegetation, from southern species to alpine species and not to mention landscapes which are very similar to the Fontainebleau forest.
